CLN is seeking a new Legal Associate to enhance our dedicated team! This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in climate litigation at the forefront of legal action.

The Role: As a Legal Associate, you will collaborate closely with CLN’s partners to initiate and bolster climate cases against governmental entities. This position merges legal expertise with partnership development, demanding high-quality technical work alongside effective support for CLN’s partners. You will also play a role in knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, and represent the organization in relevant external forums.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with partners to develop climate litigation cases.
• Provide legal expertise and support to CLN’s partners.
• Engage in knowledge management and evaluation activities.
• Represent CLN in external forums related to climate litigation.

Requirements:

• LLB (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
• Specialist knowledge in climate litigation and comparative/international law.
• Strong legal research, analysis, and drafting capabilities.
• Excellent relationship management and communication skills, able to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.

Location & Working Pattern: This is a full-time hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in our Amsterdam office (preferred) or London.
