We are seeking a Lead Process Operations Engineer for the Yanbu Refinery Engineering Division, responsible for providing engineering support and leadership across refinery operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of process units.

The Role

In this position, you will bridge engineering design and operational execution, ensuring refinery processes operate efficiently and safely. You will apply engineering principles to real-time operations, troubleshoot inefficiencies, and optimize unit performance while collaborating with various teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to the Operations Engineering team, ensuring alignment with performance targets and safety standards.
• Lead process optimization initiatives across multiple units, implementing improvements in throughput and energy efficiency.
• Oversee engineering strategies for turnarounds, shutdowns, and capacity expansions.
• Act as the primary engineering authority during process upsets and equipment failures, ensuring timely resolution.
• Champion collaboration between operations, maintenance, and technical support teams to enhance asset integrity.
• Lead HAZOP studies and risk assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Develop best practices and digital tools to enhance operational discipline and decision support.
• Provide technical oversight for equipment modifications and process changes.
• Mentor and develop engineers and specialists, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Represent Operations Engineering in strategic reviews and corporate improvement programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in refining or petrochemical operations with a strong track record.
• Expertise in refinery process systems and process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS).
• Strong understanding of process safety management and reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• Excellent strategic thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Aramco engineering standards and international codes.
