Alpstar is an ERS-EO project aimed at developing a resilient Earth observation system that integrates space and ground assets, providing secure data access for various applications. As the Lead End-to-End Performance Engineer, you will report to the Alpstar Project Manager and work closely with satellite engineering, security engineering, mission analysis, and ground segment engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain end-to-end system performance requirements, including allocation to subsystems and performance budgets related to latency, availability, and throughput.
• Support the Alpstar Users Forum regarding mission performance aspects and ensure consistency with the approved concept of operations.
• Establish and maintain the end-to-end system architecture and operations concept.
• Coordinate the end-to-end system performance verification program, including data processing and flight calibration.
• Review requirement consistency from system to subsystem levels and maintain the requirements database.
• Analyze and validate performance of interfaces between space and ground components, supporting harmonization with external systems.
• Supervise the industrial supplier's progress in developing the Alpstar Federated Layer and provide technical support for related activities.
• Monitor end-to-end data flow and coordinate various project engineering domains.
• Provide regular reporting to project management, identifying risks and proposing mitigation actions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline, with four years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with an additional four years of experience.
• Solid knowledge of space systems engineering principles and lifecycle.
• Experience in software systems engineering, ground segment architectures, and interface management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments.
