In Amsterdam Westpoort, Cargill's Multiseed factory is a modern and innovative production site where sunflower and rapeseed are processed into high-quality vegetable oil for the food industry. Daily, large quantities of seeds are processed into refined oil ready for use in supermarket products. Sustainability plays an increasingly important role in our production processes. Therefore, the factory has recently implemented a biomass installation, generating steam, an essential energy source for our production. This installation operates on biomass in the form of cocoa shells, a byproduct of the cocoa industry, producing energy sustainably for our factory.

As Lead Boiler Operator, you are responsible for the continuous and safe operation of the biomass installation and gas boilers. You ensure that the factory always has enough steam for optimal production processes. You manage the entire process, from the supply of biomass to steam production, overseeing various process steps such as grinding cocoa shells, combustion, the release of flue gases, and converting them into steam.

• Monitor and control the entire steam production process
• Operate and optimize the biomass installation and gas boilers
• Supervise the supply and processing of biomass
• Inspect installations such as hammer mills, filters, pumps, and heat exchangers
• Oversee the water treatment process via the RO installation
• Perform first-line maintenance on the installations
• Identify malfunctions and engage technical services if necessary
• Act as stop coordinator during scheduled major maintenance
• Ensure safe and stable process operation

The position operates in a 2-shift system, with one Lead Boiler Operator present per shift. Supervision is maintained by the shift manager during nights and weekends.
