The Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Lead to join our Global Engineering organization. In this position, you will lead the development of advanced automation systems, special-purpose machines, and robotic manufacturing solutions that support our production plants worldwide. You will provide technical leadership, manage multidisciplinary engineering projects, and contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of manufacturing technologies across our global operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Automation and Machine Engineering teams, providing technical leadership and people management.
• Oversee new machine development projects from concept through commissioning.
• Coordinate planning, design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases of industrial automation projects.
• Define and implement technical standards for robotic automation projects.
• Standardize PLC, HMI, SCADA, servo systems, and motion control applications.
• Develop engineering solutions compliant with machine safety regulations and international standards.
• Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and schedules.
• Conduct technical discussions and negotiations with suppliers.
• Coordinate automation projects for overseas manufacturing facilities.
• Monitor emerging technologies and implement innovative automation solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Mentor and support the professional development of the engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• No restrictions on international travel.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in machine manufacturing and industrial automation.
• At least 5 years of experience leading technical teams or managing engineering projects.
• Proven experience in large-scale industrial automation projects.
• Strong knowledge of machine design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning processes.
• Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage.

Nice to Have

• Solid experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, HMI & SCADA development, servo systems, motion control, industrial communication protocols, and remote I/O systems.
• Experience in robotics, including industrial robot programming, integration, commissioning, robotic cell design, vision systems, and safety systems.
• Knowledge of digitalization, including MES integration, ERP system integration, SQL, OPC UA, and IIoT.
