In this role, you will be responsible for processing plankton samples collected during sea surveys, which include fish eggs, larvae, and fish gonads. You will meticulously record the results of your analyses in data templates and specific software applications.

Team and Location

You will collaborate with approximately four colleagues in a close-knit research team at Wageningen Marine Research, located in IJmuiden. Together, you will contribute to a variety of projects aimed at advancing marine ecological research. Wageningen Marine Research (WMR) is a leading independent research institute specializing in both strategic and applied marine ecological studies.

Responsibilities

• Sort and analyze samples using microscopy and image analysis techniques.
• Prepare histological sections.
• Document and enter data, processing results accurately.

Requirements

• Completed MBO level 4 qualification or equivalent vocational qualification (academic backgrounds will not be considered).
• Interest in working with small marine organisms.
• Demonstrable affinity with microscopy work.
• Proficiency in Dutch (minimum level B2) and basic proficiency in English (A2 level) is advantageous.
