We are seeking an experienced laboratory technician with a specialization in electron microprobe analysis and a broad expertise in the microanalysis of geological materials. In this role, you will not only operate, calibrate, and maintain instruments but also supervise and train users. Utilizing your expertise, you will assist users in interpreting analytical results and recommend the most suitable analytical methods.

• A highly motivated candidate with proven expertise in microchemical analytical applications in the Earth sciences.
• A strong interest in supporting and advising scientific users.
• A Master's degree in Earth sciences, (instrumental) analytical chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent expertise gained through professional experience.
• In-depth knowledge of mineralogy and trace element geochemistry.
• Experience working at the interface between scientific research and technical laboratory support.
• Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Good communication and organizational skills to manage various research projects from different scientists.

As this role is situated in a dynamic, international research environment with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, excellent communication skills in English are essential. Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage, and international candidates will receive assistance in acquiring Dutch language skills within the first two years of their appointment.
