The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for planning and executing daily laboratory activities and performing routine experiments to support the development and commercial production of Pharming’s products. This role involves working closely with the Development, Operations, and CMC teams, ensuring that all activities comply with quality standards and are completed within agreed timelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and document experiments following current procedures, protocols, and quality standards.
• Accurately record, analyze, and report experimental results promptly.
• Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Prepare, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and other laboratory documentation.
• Identify recurring issues, deviations, or opportunities for improvement in the laboratory and proactively propose solutions.
• Maintain an overview of assigned activities and communicate progress during team and project meetings.
• Work in accordance with Pharming’s Quality Management System and support the maintenance of GMP-compliant laboratory documentation.
• Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

Requirements

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Basic understanding of pharmaceutical drug development processes.
• Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline; or an MBO qualification with at least 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Strong organizational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Flexible, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment is a plus, but not required.
• Familiarity with Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) or electronic lab journals is advantageous but not mandatory.
