The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for planning and executing daily laboratory activities and performing routine experiments to support the development and commercial production of Pharming’s products. This role involves collaboration with Development, Operations, and CMC teams, ensuring compliance with quality standards and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform, and document experiments according to current procedures, protocols, and quality standards.
• Accurately record, analyze, and report experimental results in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to prioritize activities and meet project deadlines.
• Prepare, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and other laboratory documentation.
• Identify recurring issues, deviations, or opportunities for improvement within the laboratory and proactively propose solutions.
• Maintain an overview of assigned activities and communicate progress during team and project meetings.
• Work in accordance with Pharming’s Quality Management System and support the maintenance of GMP-compliant laboratory documentation.
• Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

Requirements

• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Basic understanding of pharmaceutical drug development processes.
• Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline; or an MBO qualification combined with at least 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Flexible, proactive, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment and using Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) is an advantage but not required.
