• MSc (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Science and Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in mechanics and finite element analysis.
• Experience with topology optimization and/or inverse design.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing or mechanical testing is advantageous.
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C++ are desirable.

The Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) focuses on harmonizing human evolution with technological advancement. Delft designers bridge the gap between technological innovation and societal needs to create purposeful products, services, and systems. IDE is a leader in design research across mobility, sustainability, and health, supported by a team of 350 researchers and over 2,000 students working in inspiring environments.

• Contract duration: 12 months (temporary).
• Work hours: 32-36 hours per week.
• Salary: Scale 8 or 10, depending on graduation date and relevant work experience, ranging from €3,537 to €5,760 gross per month based on a full-time contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
