In your role as Junior Legal Counsel in General Contract Law within the Mid-Office, you will be the first to determine the legal course of a case. After the Legal Service Center grants coverage, you will analyze the case, quickly identify the core issues, and determine the most appropriate next steps. You will:

• Analyze new cases immediately after coverage assessment;
• Quickly determine the correct follow-up approach;
• Provide immediate legal advice where possible;
• Independently resolve simple issues;
• Refer complex cases to the appropriate specialist.

The Mid-Office is a newly established team that evaluates cases right after coverage assessment. This approach provides clients with faster clarity and ensures cases reach the right legal expert promptly. Following a successful pilot, we are expanding the team and exploring growth into other legal areas.

As a Junior Legal Counsel in General Contract Law at ARAG, we expect you to have:

• A completed HBO or WO degree in Dutch Law;
• A foundation in general contract law from relevant work experience (1 year);
• Curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly translate complex information;
• Openness to feedback, both on content and collaboration processes;
• The courage to make decisions, even when information is incomplete;
• A structured approach to work and pleasant, professional communication with colleagues;
• Availability for at least 24 hours per week and willingness to work on-site 2 to 3 days a week.
