This role combines strong engineering leadership with a passion for building high-performing teams and delivering exceptional customer experiences for our mobile customers, while embracing ING's Orange culture and commitment to diversity.

De rol

As IT Area Lead, you will work in a dynamic environment, accountable for people leadership, delivery, technology execution, operational excellence, budget management, and business outcomes for key global products across multiple ING countries. You will define and translate product and technology strategy into execution and scalable solutions, leading high-performing engineering teams while managing trade-offs between customer value, risk, technology health, and delivery. You will report to the Omnichannel CIO in the Netherlands.

• Lead the delivery of customer-facing mobile capabilities that power OneApp.
• Accelerate the adoption of scalable, reusable solutions across ING Retail countries.
• Define and execute product and technology strategies in a secure manner.
• Manage trade-offs between customer value, risk, and operational excellence.
• Develop high-performing engineering teams and foster a culture of empowerment.

Vereisten

• Proven ability to translate company priorities into actionable plans.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in high-performing engineering teams.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in complex technology environments.
• Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns and engineering practices.
• Familiarity with AI technologies and their value creation potential.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of aligning stakeholders across levels.
• Experience in delivering complex IT transformation programs.
