Team: Separate Accounts, CBRE Investment Management (CBRE IM)
Duration and hours: 3 months (November – January), fulltime (40 hours per week)
The Separate Accounts team specializes in building and managing real estate portfolios for individual institutional clients. As an investment intern, you will collaborate with analysts and senior team members on portfolio construction, market research, underwriting potential acquisitions, and asset management initiatives. This role provides insight into the investment decision-making process, from initial acquisition reviews to quarterly client discussions.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will assist analysts and senior Portfolio Managers with their daily tasks, including:
- Supporting portfolio construction, conducting market research, underwriting potential investment opportunities, ongoing asset monitoring, and client reporting, including quarterly reports and presentations.
- Monitoring portfolio performance and participating in the review of acquisition and disposal processes. You will learn to interpret forecast returns and risks of individual investments and identify issues that may impact portfolios.
- Managing client investment data within the client investment plan and databases.
- Tracking client and investment performance data, aiding analysts and senior team members in reviewing the portfolio forecasting model, analyzing individual assets in depth, and evaluating and approving asset business plans.
- Assisting with client and internal information requests.
- Contributing to sustainability strategies, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics, and supporting their implementation.
