Jouw rol

During your internship or graduation project, you will tackle a challenging optimization problem within the energy market and greenhouse horticulture. You will develop a forecasting and decision model that predicts and determines how energy installations are optimally utilized.

You will have access to real-time data from a complex energy environment where heat, electricity, CO₂, weather influences, and various energy markets converge. Using AI, machine learning, and optimization techniques, you will create a model that makes the most valuable choice every 15 minutes.

You will collaborate with experienced energy managers and specialists and have the opportunity to apply your ideas directly in practice.

• Develop forecasting models for heat demand, CO₂ needs, electricity prices, and weather influences.
• Predict the flexibility value in the mFRR and aFRR markets.
• Create an optimization model that determines which energy assets are optimally deployed every 15 minutes.
• Investigate when CHP units operate optimally and how heat is efficiently distributed.
• Analyze the deployment of various heat and CO₂ sources.
• Optimize trading on the day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets.
• Translate complex energy data into smart algorithms and practical insights.
• Present results and recommendations to the energy team.

• You are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in AI, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Energy Systems, or a related field.
• Interest in forecasting, machine learning, and optimization problems.
• Affinity with energy markets, sustainability, and the energy transition.
• Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to work.
• Experience with Python, data analysis, or machine learning is a plus.
• You are curious, independent, and enjoy understanding complex systems.
