In the role of Information Security Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing, integrating, and continuously improving technical security controls throughout the enterprise IT landscape. Your efforts will help strengthen the organization's core cyber hygiene and enhance resilience.

• Ensure security controls are effective, measurable, and integrated into daily IT operations, collaborating closely with IT Operations & Services and external providers.
• Implement and maintain technical security controls across endpoint, infrastructure, network, identity, and hybrid/cloud environments.
• Strengthen core cyber hygiene practices, including hardening, patching, logging, privileged access management, and secure configuration.
• Enhance detection capabilities, telemetry quality, and managed detection reporting.
• Contribute to improvements in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and technical control effectiveness across the IT landscape.
• Support vulnerability management and risk-based remediation efforts.
• Translate security standards and policies into practical technical implementations.
• Collaborate with IT Operations, architecture, and external partners to ensure secure operational delivery.
• Identify control gaps and define measurable improvement actions and KPIs.

As our new Information Security Engineer, you will be part of the Digital & Workplace Solutions (DWS) corporate group in the Netherlands. DWS provides services to the internal organization, enabling colleagues to serve their clients effectively.

DWS's activities span three domains: Enterprise IT & Services, Real Estate & Facility, and Digital & AI, with a dedicated team for information security. The recent reorganization of DWS allows these domains to operate more effectively, leading to the creation of several new roles, including Information Security Engineer. This position will be part of the Information Security team, which is being developed to professionalize cyber security and significantly enhance organizational maturity. The team collaborates closely with IT Operations & Service Management, architecture, external providers, business stakeholders, and Risk & Compliance to improve cyber fundamentals, detection and response, and practical control implementation.

• Solid hands-on experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or enterprise cyber operations.
• Experience in complex enterprise environments and collaboration with outsourced service providers.
• Strong understanding of modern technical controls, monitoring, identity-related controls, and secure configurations.
• Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a small senior team with broad responsibilities.
• Ability to explain technical security topics clearly in both English and Dutch.

Opleiding en Certificeringen

• Completed relevant education (Bachelor's degree) in cyber security, computer science, or information technology.
• Preferred certifications include Security+, CISSP, AZ-500, SC-200, SC-300, CCSP, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of technical control implementation, detection use cases, and enterprise IT security practices.
