In this role, you will be part of the Instruction Platoon Further Training at the Mineur- and Sappeurschool within the Engineering Training and Education Center (OTC Genie) in Vught. Your primary focus will be with the Engineering Information and Reconnaissance Group (GIV).

Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and keep ICT hardware and software current.
  • Implement new ICT systems and applications.
  • Manage and further develop the GIS portal and associated database.
  • Analyze and resolve ICT and GIS-related issues and problems.
  • Perform change, configuration, and material management.
  • Identify recurring issues and seek structural solutions.
  • Collaborate on requirements for new or replacement ICT and GIS resources.
  • Test and evaluate new hardware and software.
  • Advise supervisors and colleagues on ICT, GIS, and technical matters.
  • Stay updated on developments in GIS, drones, sensors, and other innovative technologies.
  • Support instructors and students with ICT-related tasks during training.

A crucial part of your work is combining ICT with geo-information, working with GIS portals, geographic databases, drone data, LiDAR, imagery, and 3D data to support the training of personnel within the engineering domain.

You will closely collaborate with colleagues within the OTC Genie and with internal and external partners in the field of ICT, GIS, and geo-information.
