In this role, you will provide scientific and technical leadership to advance our experimental quantum hardware program, aiming to create the next generation of semiconductor quantum processors. Groove Quantum is dedicated to building a scalable quantum computer based on semiconductor germanium quantum dots. As we transition from high-fidelity few-qubit processors to large-scale quantum computers, your primary mission will be to manage our experimental quantum hardware activities and internal device fabrication. You will blend the independence of a principal investigator with the speed and ambition of a deep-tech startup, working closely with the CTO to convert our technology roadmap into innovative R&D programs, guiding devices from fabrication to cryogenic measurement and qubit operation.
The Role
- Team leadership & mentorship: Lead, develop, and mentor Groove's experimental quantum hardware team, assisting scientists and engineers in navigating complex experimental challenges.
- R&D strategy & roadmap translation: Collaborate with the CTO to establish experimental priorities and translate the company technology roadmap into actionable research programs.
- Qubit performance & scaling: Enhance qubit control, initialization, readout, coherence, and stability across larger quantum-dot arrays.
- Cross-functional integration: Synchronize experimental efforts across various systems, collaborating closely with device design, semiconductor, software, and QEC teams.
- External representation & IP strategy: Spearhead collaborative R&D projects, grant proposals, publications, patents, and represent Groove at international scientific conferences.
