GZ-Psychologist for Depression Admissions at Zorg+Welzijn

The Role

You will play a guiding and supportive role in the clinical cognitive-behavioral therapy treatment program and department-related developments. You will conduct CBT group therapy and be actively involved in the Multidisciplinary Consultation, collaborating closely with fellow psychologists, therapists, nurses, nurse specialists, psychiatrists, and medical social workers. You will provide intervision and training to the nursing team, with room for your input and development. Additionally, you can take on an important role as a psychologist in the innovative treatment program, particularly in esketamine treatment.

Work Environment

You will work on the clinical treatment unit for Depression Admissions, part of the Mood and Anxiety Disorders department at the University Center for Psychiatry (UCP). This unit treats adult patients with depressive mood disorders in both open and closed settings, focusing on severe depression related to depressive disorders or bipolar disorders. Most patients have complicating comorbidities, such as other psychiatric disorders, physical issues, and systemic problems. Almost all patients have previously received treatment in specialized mental health care, with a targeted referral to UMCG for preferred care. In addition to treating these conditions, the department offers clinical second opinions for patients with persistent, treatment-resistant depressive symptoms. Due to the specialized treatment offerings, the department has a supra-regional function.

From the Innovative Psychiatric Unit associated with Depression Admissions, UCP provides innovative treatment options for mood disorders, including esketamine treatment in oral and intranasal forms (possibly in study context), repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), and combined chronotherapy. The GZ-psychologist will have a significant role in the esketamine treatments. We are working as a team towards establishing a psychedelic treatment and research center, and you can contribute to this development by co-developing and implementing the psychotherapeutic treatment combined with various psychedelics.

The Mood and Anxiety Disorders department is part of the University Center for Psychiatry, the expertise center for mental health care in Northern Netherlands. Here, you will collaborate with 570 dedicated and passionate employees to deliver high-quality psychiatric diagnostics and treatment in an open and welcoming atmosphere. Our offerings include both inpatient and outpatient care, with various specializations and collaborations within and outside UMCG and the region.

Requirements

You have a BIG registration as a GZ-psychologist and preferably a registration as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (VGCt) and the qualification to be a VGCt supervisor. You see it as a challenge to implement and develop new forms of psychological treatment within the current treatment program. You are open to working in a dynamic environment where we continuously seek new developments in education and research.

What We Offer

We offer a one-year contract for 28-32 hours per week with a prospect of a permanent employment contract. Your salary can be up to €6,825 gross per month (scale 11, CAO-UMC), depending on relevant knowledge and experience, based on a full-time employment contract (36 hours per week).

Additionally, we provide 8% vacation pay, a year-end bonus of 8.3%, and a pension plan with ABP, where 70% of the premium is covered by us. The employment conditions are according to the CAO Universitair Medische Centra (CAO-UMC). An attractive CAO à la carte where you can purchase additional leave and caregiving hours and utilize various tax schemes such as the Bike Plan and Company Fitness. A position-related budget for additional training and education.
