As a Ground Gas Specialist within Amazon's Worldwide Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding one of the safest real estate programs globally. Your responsibilities will include partnering with stakeholders across Amazon to develop and implement our ground gas mitigation program throughout continental Europe, focusing on standards, policy development, and execution. Your efforts will directly contribute to reducing environmental and human health risks in our facilities.

The Role

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in contaminated land and ground gas or vapor intrusion to:

Serve as the primary contact for internal teams, ensuring the effective execution of Amazon's ground gas program in Europe.
Conduct due diligence reviews to assess ground gas risks on properties.
Review mitigation system designs, construction plans, and operational data.
Oversee field personnel during construction and operation phases to ensure compliance with design and operational assumptions.
Direct field personnel in operations, maintenance, and monitoring (OMM) tasks, including developing scopes of work and evaluating reports.
Collaborate with various teams, including legal, construction management, and facility operations, on ground gas risks and mitigation systems.
Provide training on mitigation systems and monitoring equipment to facility operations teams.
Review work performed by contractors and consultants, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and represent Amazon in professional interactions with property owners and consultants.
Travel across continental Europe as needed, particularly during active project phases.
