Are you completing your Master's degree and looking for a graduation assignment that connects academic theory with real-world impact? As a Port Planning Graduation Intern, you will work on a topic related to some of the most important challenges facing ports today, including sustainability, climate resilience, digitalisation, supply chain development, and the energy transition. Supported by a dedicated mentor and a network of experienced professionals from across Haskoning, you will have the opportunity to develop practical solutions, methodologies, or tools that help ports respond to the rapidly changing demands of the maritime industry.

The Role

As a Port Planning Graduation Intern, you will undertake a Master's graduation assignment focused on an emerging challenge or opportunity within the port and maritime sector. Your assignment will combine academic rigour with industry relevance, allowing you to explore a topic in depth while developing practical outcomes that can be applied within the sector. You will work independently on your graduation assignment, while receiving guidance from a dedicated mentor and drawing upon the expertise of specialists from across Haskoning. Throughout your internship, you will engage with professionals working on port development projects worldwide, helping you connect academic knowledge with real-world industry perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on emerging challenges and opportunities in the port and maritime sector.
• Develop practical solutions and methodologies for port planning.
• Collaborate with professionals on global port development projects.
• Present findings and insights to both academic and professional audiences.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Transport & Infrastructure, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Geography, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with analytical or research tools such as Excel, GIS, Python, or Power BI is beneficial.
