We are seeking a Global Agriculture Intern to join our EMENA Agriculture team, based in the Netherlands (Amsterdam or Lewedorp). This role will support our Regenerative Agriculture & Decarbonization initiatives, contributing to McCain's commitment to advancing sustainable practices across our value chain. You will work closely with our Agriculture teams to analyze grower practices, support the deployment of digital tools, and implement regenerative farming practices within our potato supply chain.
The Role
You will assist in the decarbonization of McCain's European potato supply chain by analyzing agronomic data, identifying opportunities for improving regenerative farming practices, and providing technical insights to local Agriculture teams.
Responsibilities
- Collect, structure, and validate grower practice data, including fertilization, crop protection, tillage, irrigation, cover crops, and crop rotations.
- Ensure data quality by standardizing formats, cleaning datasets, and maintaining a data dictionary.
- Analyze farming practices and calculate sustainability indicators like greenhouse gas emissions and nitrogen use efficiency.
- Support the deployment of our grower-facing digital platform in France and Poland, including user onboarding.
- Maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards for monitoring carbon footprint and KPIs.
- Analyze the impact of agricultural practices on carbon emissions and farm performance.
- Develop communication materials such as technical guides and infographics.
Requirements
- Currently studying Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Familiarity with agronomic concepts such as fertilization and irrigation.
- Strong analytical skills and interest in agricultural datasets.
- Must be able to travel to the Amsterdam Schiphol Office at least 4 times a week.
