In the role of General Manager House of Rituals, you will oversee one of Rituals’ most distinctive locations in Amsterdam, where retail, wellbeing, hospitality, and brand experience converge beyond a traditional flagship store. This venue also serves as a key event space, hosting activations and brand moments.

The Role

You will be responsible for the overall performance, direction, and development of the House. Leading key functions including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Events, you will manage approximately 30 FTE and oversee Rituals Café through the franchise manager. Reporting directly to the Retail Director, you will ensure that House of Rituals operates as a cohesive destination.

Responsibilities

• Lead the House and take end-to-end responsibility for its performance and daily operations.
• Manage key functions within the building, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Events, while overseeing Rituals Café.
• Align teams and priorities to operate the House as one unified destination.
• Set standards for leadership, collaboration, and execution across the building.
• Drive commercial and operational excellence through strong execution of strategies.
• Monitor performance, identify opportunities, and implement actions to improve results.
• Maintain high standards across service, planning, stock, compliance, health and safety, and operational practices.
• Ensure every aspect of the House contributes to a premium customer experience.
• Connect stakeholders and drive innovation by collaborating with local and corporate head office teams.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders to align priorities and advance cross-functional initiatives.
• Partner with internal teams on the rollout, testing, and evaluation of new concepts and innovations.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through insights from customers and performance data.
• Lead with clarity and empathy, creating a culture of ownership, collaboration, and accountability.
• Develop strong leaders and cultivate an environment for team growth and performance.
• Represent the House as a strategic destination within the wider Rituals organization.

Requirements

You are a commercially driven leader with strong emotional intelligence and experience in a complex, customer-facing environment. You excel at leading at scale, maintaining close business ties, and uniting diverse stakeholders to achieve results. You possess:

• At least 10 years of leadership experience in retail, hospitality, events, or branded customer environments.
• Strong in-store experience and time spent on the shop floor.
• Proven experience managing a flagship, multi-floor, or high-volume location.
• A strong track record in commercial performance, operational excellence, and people leadership.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders across various functions.
• The ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and translate ideas into execution.
• High emotional intelligence and a leadership style that fosters trust and collaboration.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus but not required.
