The board will fulfill the legal and fiduciary responsibilities of a Dutch Stichting board, ensuring funds are used to advance Solena's mission and maintaining compliance with policies and controls.

We seek board members who can help build connections across Europe by:

• Establishing relationships with European nonprofits, networks, and funders.
• Understanding the European funding landscape.
• Identifying opportunities for collaboration in gender equality and related areas.

Board members with experience in EU funding can assist by:

• Identifying suitable EU programs and funding opportunities.
• Advising on competitive strategies for EU funding.
• Building relationships with potential consortium partners.

We aim to build a small board with diverse skills and perspectives, particularly valuing experience in Dutch nonprofit governance, ANBI compliance, EU funding, nonprofit finance, and gender equality work. Previous board experience is a plus, but a commitment to learning and understanding nonprofit governance is essential.

This is an unpaid volunteer position. Initial involvement will be higher as we establish governance processes and work towards ANBI status, transitioning to a regular board meeting schedule thereafter. Most work can be conducted remotely.
