Vacancy Summary

Join our team as a Fleet Mechanic responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City's fleet, including various vehicles and equipment. Ideal candidates will have relevant technical training and ASE certification.

Under the supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Manager, the Fleet Mechanic will perform essential tasks related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City's fleet, which includes sedans, light trucks, heavy trucks, and miscellaneous equipment.

Qualifications:

Completion of secondary education (high school or GED) and graduation from a two-year technical school specializing in heavy truck/equipment diesel repair.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a skilled technician, with at least two (2) years in heavy equipment repair and two (2) years in standard passenger vehicle repair, or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licensure or Certification Requirements:

Valid State of Ohio driver’s license (Class B or higher) and must remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.
ASE certification as a Master Mechanic is required or must be obtained within one (1) year of hire.
