The Role

As a Manufacturing Strategy Manager, you will play a key role in the Manufacturing Strategy function, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Strategy Leader. This position focuses on developing and implementing global manufacturing and capacity strategies that drive long-term business growth and ensure supply chain resilience.

The Role

You will collaborate with manufacturing sites, engineering teams, and supply chain stakeholders to translate enterprise-level strategies into actionable initiatives and roadmaps. Your expertise in manufacturing operations and analytical skills will be essential as you work within a complex global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of global manufacturing, capacity, and resiliency strategies that align with long-term business objectives and customer needs.
  • Translate manufacturing strategy into clear roadmaps, initiatives, and milestones across various sites and functions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing sites, engineering, and supply chain teams to assess current and future capacity requirements.
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of strategic business cases for manufacturing network design, capacity expansion, and resiliency initiatives, including cost-benefit and risk analyses.
  • Contribute to make/buy assessments and decisions regarding manufacturing footprint for new product introductions and supply opportunities.
  • Provide analytical insights to support recommendations on manufacturing locations and investment priorities.
  • Define, track, and govern KPIs and metrics related to manufacturing capacity, utilization, resilience, and financial performance.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to identify cost reduction and resource optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor initiative progress and prepare structured updates for senior leadership.
  • Support change management efforts related to manufacturing strategy initiatives, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Ensure alignment of manufacturing strategy and capacity initiatives with regulatory, quality, and safety requirements, fostering a culture of compliance and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Significant experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing strategy roles within a regulated industry (pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or diagnostics preferred).
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations and capacity planning; experience in sterile or highly regulated environments is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work across global, cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Experience with business cases and strong financial acumen.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex analyses to senior leaders clearly.
