The Role

We are a reliable recruitment partner for established and growing organizations across the EMEA region. We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Insurance Operations for a confidential client in the insurance sector. This full-time remote position is open to candidates throughout the EMEA region.

About the Role

The Director of Insurance Operations will oversee daily insurance operations, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service delivery. This leadership position requires strong operational expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a remote environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of insurance operations, a data-driven mindset, and proven leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all insurance operations, including policy administration, underwriting, claims coordination, and customer service processes.
  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance operational workflows to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards across EMEA markets.
  • Develop and monitor operational KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with underwriting, finance, risk, compliance, and technology teams.
  • Oversee relationships with vendors, TPAs, and service providers as necessary.
  • Identify operational risks and implement strategies for mitigation.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop remote operations teams across various locations.
  • Support business growth initiatives through scalable and sustainable operational models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Minimum of 8–12 years of experience in insurance operations, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of insurance processes, regulatory frameworks, and operational best practices.
  • Proven experience managing regional or multi-market insurance operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working in remote or distributed team environments.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
