We are looking for a Communications Specialist to join our team on a 1-year fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension. This role is based in the Netherlands, within reasonable travel distance to Amsterdam, Paris, and Brussels. You will have the flexibility to work from home and come into the office as needed, promoting a culture that values results over presenteeism.

The Role

As our EU Communications Specialist, you will play a crucial role in defining how WRAP builds its profile across the European Union. You will engage with existing corporate, government, and funding partners while expanding our reach to new audiences, particularly in food and textiles sustainability. Your extensive experience across multiple European countries will be invaluable in understanding what resonates with different stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build a deep understanding of priority stakeholders across the region, identifying their motivations and how to reach them.
• Develop and deliver an effective regional communications plan that aligns with WRAP’s corporate strategy and global messaging.
• Identify and secure high-profile regional media coverage, PR opportunities, and speaking engagements.
• Create high-quality, audience-focused content and materials to support stakeholder engagement and showcase WRAP’s work.
• Proactively build relationships with key regional organisations, influencers, and networks to expand WRAP’s reach.
• Collaborate positively with WRAP’s cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience in global communications, public relations, or marketing.
• Ability to develop and implement effective communication plans to influence public opinion and engage stakeholders.
• Experience creating engaging multi-channel content, including multimedia formats.
• Strong awareness of regional trends, policy developments, and media agendas.
• Willingness to travel within the EU and to the UK as needed.
• Native proficiency in one or more EU languages and proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

What We Offer

• Salary of €63,400 plus a competitive benefits package including 25 days’ annual leave, a 15.2% employer pension contribution, health insurance, a wellbeing allowance, and a Headspace app subscription.
