General Description The Equipment Operator is primarily assigned to the Water Meter Department, part of the Water Distribution Department. This role focuses on water meter-related duties, with potential reassignment to assist the Water Distribution crew based on operational needs, special projects, or emergencies.

As a public employee, you will ensure reliable utility service delivery, responding promptly to emergency repairs outside regular hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Class B CDL with tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in Underground Utilities or related fields (construction, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.) is preferred.
• Ability to obtain an Ohio EPA Class I Distribution license within 18 months of hire.
• Must maintain residency as required by the City.

Other Desired Qualifications/Skills

• Extensive knowledge of water distribution, sanitary collection systems, and storm sewer collection systems.
