Unilever is seeking an Emulsified Sauces R&D Technologist for Unilever Food Solutions, located in Hive, Wageningen. This role involves leading the development and optimization of innovative emulsified food products for the Food Service sector. You will contribute to new technology development and implementation, focusing on product design, formulation, and scale-up activities, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to bring ideas from concept to commercialization.

De Rol

As an R&D Technologist, you will play a key role in the development of breakthrough technologies for emulsified foods, including sauces and condiments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Contributing to the development of new technologies for emulsified foods.
• Supporting the upscaling and implementation of these technologies in plants worldwide.
• Acting as the global first point of contact for specific technology areas, assisting in knowledge creation and troubleshooting.
• Leading the creation and upscaling of new products and reformulations aligned with market needs.
• Independently setting up and executing lab experiments, prototype builds, and plant trials, including data analysis and reporting.
• Coordinating and performing analytical and sensory testing to inform formulation decisions.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborating closely with Global and Local Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.

Vereisten

• Professional education and proven experience: HBO plus at least 10 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor/Master plus at least 2 years in Food Science, Product Design, Food Engineering, or related fields.
• Knowledge of recipe design principles for emulsion-based products and relevant processing technologies.
• Experience in developing experimental designs, conducting pilot and factory scale trials, and performing analytical tests.
• Ability to review regulations and conduct scientific literature searches.
• Proficiency in relevant software and data analysis platforms.
• Strong leadership in technical workstreams and effective collaboration in global teams.
• Initiative in supporting R&D transformation and adopting agile methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
