Your job

Would you like to help find solutions to the problems of nitrogen, methane, and particulate matter in livestock farming?

At Wageningen Livestock Research, you will be working on innovations for low-emission livestock housing and manure storage facilities. As a measurement technician, you will combine hands-on work with scientific precision. You will help to develop and test measurement methods that enable emissions to be measured continuously and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site measurements in livestock farming locations across the country.
• Process and analyze data collected from measurements.
• Maintain measuring equipment to ensure operational reliability.

You will provide expert input for project plans and ensure that measurements are carried out in accordance with the agreed criteria. You will combine data with your own observations and practical insights, and maintain close contact with both researchers and livestock farmers.

About Emissions And Manure Valorisation

The Emissions and Manure valorisation department conducts practice-oriented research towards a healthier environment and sustainable livestock farming. You will work with a diverse group of around 40 colleagues – ranging from researchers to analysts – within Wageningen University & Research and with external partners.

Requirements

• Relevant higher professional education (HBO) qualification in livestock farming, the environment, and/or engineering, with a demonstrable affinity for data processing. Candidates with a senior secondary vocational education (MBO) qualification in a relevant field and suitable work experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Interest in livestock farming and awareness of environmental developments.
• Fluency in Dutch and possession of a Category B driving license (preferably also a Category BE license).

We offer a competitive gross salary between €3,381 and €4,560 for a full-time working week of 36 hours, depending on experience. A contract for 28 to 36 hours can be discussed, with an initial one-year contract and the possibility of renewal based on performance and financial situation.
