We are currently seeking an ambitious Electrical R&D Engineer for GKN Fokker Elmo's R&D department, who will leverage their Electrical Engineering expertise to develop future electrical wiring product solutions for sustainable aircraft. As the industry shifts towards Hybrid-Electric and Full-Electric aircraft, the significance of electrical wiring technology continues to grow.

The Role

You will be instrumental in developing electrical wiring products designed for installation in confined spaces and harsh environments, such as wings and engines. This includes creating innovative electrical components for high voltage power signals and low voltage power and data signals. Your work will be tied to customer demonstrator projects, providing a pathway for the technology you develop.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning and technical delivery of assigned projects, ensuring research objectives are met.
• Coordinate and lead hands-on development tests and trials, adhering to safety protocols.
• Support or oversee external work packages with partners and suppliers to achieve project goals.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and review reports from others.
• Contribute to Technology Development Plans and Business Cases.
• Engage in stakeholder management with internal and external customers, potentially leading supply chain partner management.
• Foster a positive work environment aligned with GKN's core principles of safety, innovation, and respect.

Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in electrical engineering, preferably within aircraft systems and wiring design for commercial and defense aircraft.
• Proficient in Design of Experiments (DoE) and efficient testing methods for electrical and mechanical products.
• Strong understanding of EMC and electrical theory for low and high voltage signals in EWIS products.
• Familiarity with safety and risk analyses, requirements definition, and design verification processes.
