The Role

As the EHS Country Lead (EMEAI Global Salmon and R&D), you will serve as a subject matter expert in environmental, health, and safety compliance, developing and maintaining processes to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations for complex operations involving hazardous processes.

Responsibilities

• Implement and document control programs for a large, complex operation with high risk and exposure.
• Lead processes for identifying risks, hazards, and opportunities, determining necessary resources for execution.
• Develop emergency communication plans and action plans for potential emergency situations.
• Foster a culture of environmental, health, and safety through training and education.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.
• Investigate incidents, collaborating with engineers and regulatory authorities to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
• Continuously identify and review hazards and risks, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions.
• Lead and develop a team, making decisions related to talent management and performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of the salmon, aquaculture, or broader seafood industry.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of EHS legislation and regulatory requirements across Europe, particularly in Norway, the UK, and the Netherlands.
• Proven experience in people leadership and performance management.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel within the region as required.
