Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN) is a public company in the energy sector committed to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy now and in the future. As a policy participant of the Dutch government, EBN collaborates closely with industry partners to contribute to energy supply security in the Netherlands and accelerate the development of sustainable energy systems. Our focus areas include accelerating the heat transition, establishing a sustainable gas system, and responsible CO2 storage. We work with public and private partners to leverage our expertise and financial strength to expedite the construction of a sustainable energy system, essential for achieving climate goals.

Due to its central role in ensuring energy security, EBN has a sales department to sell its own gas and meet the filling requirements of Dutch gas storage facilities. Trading and dispatching are core activities within this part of our organization. We are looking to expand our team and have an opening for an additional Dispatcher who will operate within a dynamic energy environment where market prices, products, regulations, and operational requirements are constantly changing. The relatively new team has a clear mission and offers ample room for individual input and further improvements.

In this role, you will implement the buying and selling strategy and ensure operational transport activities. This position directly contributes to EBN's strategic objectives regarding energy supply security. You will be actively involved at the intersection of operational processes, market dynamics, and policy frameworks. Together with a relatively small team, you will help build our processes further, including:

• Monitoring and adjusting gas flows to maintain the balance between supply and demand;
• Trading in short-term gas markets, making decisions about trading volumes and prices within authorized frameworks;
• Analyzing operational data and market developments to make timely decisions;
• Updating our process descriptions and proposing improvements;
• Maintaining relationships with both internal EBN stakeholders and external parties such as GTS, market players, and operators.

Working as a Dispatcher presents various challenges. The gas market is characterized by highly fluctuating prices and uncertain demand forecasts, requiring a flexible and proactive approach. Effectively using large amounts of data is crucial for making quick and accurate decisions, which often have significant financial and operational implications and must be made under time pressure.

You enjoy working in a continuously changing environment and can perform well under pressure. You take initiative but also know when to involve others. At EBN, we have a hybrid work structure, requiring at least 50% of your time to be spent in our office in Utrecht. What further qualifications do we ask of you?

• HBO work and thinking level.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the energy sector.
• Experience with trading activities in gas or other energy sources, with familiarity with the Dutch energy market being a plus.
• Proficiency in data analysis and use of trading platforms.
• Mastery of both Dutch and English.

*In this role, you will occasionally be on standby outside of regular working hours according to a fixed schedule. *An AIVD investigation is part of the standard procedure. We can provide more information during a potential interview.
