Build an entirely new science capability at the center of a significant transformation in global consumer goods. This role offers the unique opportunity to create a dedicated applied behavioral science function, aimed at understanding and shaping how adult consumers make decisions, form habits, and change behaviors in relation to innovative products.

The Role

This newly established position requires a leader who can define and implement an applied behavioral science strategy that integrates behavioral insights into product design, communication, and commercialization. You will design, conduct, and oversee both real-world and digital experiments, utilizing methods like RCTs, A/B testing, and causal inference to uncover genuine behavior change.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a comprehensive applied behavioral science strategy, embedding behavioral insights into proposition design and communication.
• Design and oversee experiments, including real-world and digital settings, using various experimental methods to determine effective behavior change.
• Identify and apply behavioral drivers of choice, such as framing, defaults, and social influence, across propositions and experiences.
• Translate behavioral theories into actionable insights that inform portfolio direction, innovation priorities, and go-to-market strategies.
• Establish the frameworks, tools, and standards necessary for cross-functional teams to consistently apply behavioral science.
• Uphold rigorous ethical standards and responsible application of behavioral science in a consumer trust-focused environment.
• Serve as the internal expert, effectively communicating evidence-based insights to senior leadership and influencing decision-making processes.

Requirements

• PhD in behavioral science, behavioral economics, psychology, decision science, economics, or a closely related field with both theoretical and applied expertise.
• Proven experience in designing and conducting experiments, including RCTs and A/B testing.
• Strong understanding of behavioral mechanisms such as choice architecture, defaults, and social influence.
• A history of translating behavioral theory into commercial outcomes and innovation strategies.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across scientific and commercial domains.
• Experience in building and leading teams, along with a strategic vision in applied settings.
• A pragmatic, results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering impactful outcomes.
