We are seeking a Director of Agronomy Operations to establish and oversee the agronomic operating framework across FinAgra’s farms and regions.

The Role

This senior agronomy position focuses heavily on operational excellence. We need a candidate with experience in managing agricultural production across multiple sites or regions, ensuring consistent performance in dispersed farming operations. Ideal candidates may have experience overseeing production farms or seed-production facilities for a global seed company, agribusiness, or large agricultural organization, ensuring adherence to uniform standards and successful execution of production plans.

You will bridge agronomy and operations, translating FinAgra’s agronomic standards into scalable and repeatable farm practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational implementation of FinAgra’s agronomic standards across various farms and countries.
• Develop systems that ensure uniform operational principles, standards, and processes across different locations.
• Convert crop protocols and SOPs into actionable farm operating plans, workflows, routines, and controls.
• Guide and support local agronomy teams to ensure consistent execution throughout the organization.
• Establish operating rhythms for crop planning, field monitoring, agronomic assessments, and problem escalation.
• Identify discrepancies between planned agronomic practices and actual field execution, driving necessary corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, and Product teams to ensure reliable execution of agronomic plans in the field.
• Define staffing models, roles, and workflows for agronomy teams as FinAgra expands.
• Standardize reporting of agronomic activities, risks, and performance across farms.
• Assist in launching and onboarding new farms and regions.
• Create mechanisms for sharing lessons learned across the network to enhance overall performance.

Requirements

• Strong professional background in agronomy, crop production, plant science, or related fields.
• Extensive hands-on experience in managing commercial agricultural production.
• Proven experience in overseeing multiple production sites, farms, or regions, particularly in diverse geographical settings.
• Relevant experience in production management within seed companies, global agribusinesses, or large-scale farming operations.
• Deep understanding of farm operations and the practical challenges of executing agronomic plans.
• Demonstrated ability to standardize processes and uphold consistent production standards across distributed teams.
• Experience in managing and developing agronomists or production teams.
• Capability to identify and nurture local agronomy talent in targeted markets.
• Strong operational discipline and keen insight into execution deviations.
• Proficient in working with data, KPIs, and structured operational processes.
• Willingness to spend considerable time in the field and travel across FinAgra markets.
