Google is more than just a software company. The Hardware Operations team oversees the advanced physical infrastructure that powers Google's search technology. As an Operations Technician, you will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware such as servers and their components, as well as server software like Google's Linux cluster. Your responsibilities will also include configuring complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols. You will participate in or lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans. A typical day may involve manual movement and installation of racks, which can be physically demanding, but you will be excited to work with cutting-edge infrastructure.

As a Data Center Technician in Data Center (DC) Technical Operations, you will execute and complete operational tasks related to deploying and launching new data center infrastructure across projects. You will utilize standard tools, resources, and processes to solve defined problems, leveraging debugging tools and performing troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges while teaching others to do the same. Working in a team environment, you will accomplish project tasks and meet or exceed operational goals for a single data center site. You will have a skilled and practical understanding of data center operations in one or more technology domains and will be developing a foundational competency in relevant broader cross-functional data center domains. Your tasks will include diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, or infrastructure while contributing to community initiatives to enhance and sustain our culture and operations.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Netherlands: €82,000 - €84,000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with equipment or infrastructure, applying the necessary resources to resolve identified issues.
Maintain the security and integrity of data, tracking various forms of media to check for non-standard data security issues handled in accordance with Google security standards.
Disassemble specific equipment that has reached its end-of-life through part replacement or maintenance, within one or more teams.
Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure based on identified issues with multiple solutions.
