Google is more than just a software company; our Hardware Operations team oversees the advanced physical infrastructure that powers Google's search technology. In the role of Operations Technician, you will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware components, including servers and their software, such as Google's Linux cluster. You will also handle the configuration of complex components like networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols. Additionally, you will participate in or lead small project teams for larger installations and develop contingency plans for projects. While the job involves manual movement and installation of racks, the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology makes it exciting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
Ability to lift/move 50 lb (23 kg) of equipment and perform physical tasks over extended periods, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling, and lifting.
Willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Completion of the online Google IT Support Professional Certificate program.
2 years of experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
Experience in performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting IT equipment or in a similar role (e.g., Systems Administration, Network Deployment Engineer, Help Desk Technician).
Familiarity with working in a data center or network operation center environment.
Strong collaboration skills to work with teams and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The salary for this position in the Netherlands ranges from €68,000 to €69,500 (EUR), plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
