We are a leading global cryptocurrency exchange experiencing significant growth in the Japanese market. As institutional interest in digital assets rises in Japan, we are looking for an Institutional Business Development Manager to spearhead our relationships with the country’s top financial institutions. You will play a crucial role in forming strategic partnerships, aligning our global liquidity and infrastructure with the specific regulatory and cultural needs of Japanese institutional finance.

The Role

You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and onboarding Japanese financial institutions, including trust banks, asset managers, securities firms, and insurance companies. As the primary senior contact for Japanese institutional clients, you will ensure our products meet their stringent standards for security, compliance, and reporting. Collaborating closely with the global product team, you will adapt our institutional offerings—such as custody solutions, API connectivity, and prime brokerage—to cater to the unique demands of the Japanese market. You will also stay updated on the Japanese regulatory landscape (FSA), providing insights to internal teams to maintain compliance and competitiveness. Additionally, you will represent the exchange at significant Japanese financial forums and industry events, fostering a trusted network among Tokyo’s financial leaders.

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in Japanese (written and spoken) and professional-level English.
• 5+ years of experience in Institutional Sales, Business Development, or Relationship Management at a Tier-1 financial institution or global fintech firm.
• Established network of contacts within Japanese banks, securities firms, or asset management companies.
• In-depth understanding of the Japanese regulatory framework (FSA/JVCEA) concerning digital assets.
• Strong technical knowledge of exchange infrastructure, custody, and API-driven trading.
