In this role, you will serve as a technical expert in cyber security, playing a central role in our cyber defence strategy. You will act as a trusted advisor on security matters to various ICT teams and projects, collaborating on the implementation of enhancements to our cyber defences. Working closely with the Security Operations Centre, you will assess the impact of alerts and incidents.

The Role

You will conduct thorough analyses in specialized areas of cyber security, proactively identifying risks and opportunities for improvement. Your responsibilities will include overseeing security assessments, tracking remediation efforts, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. By refining exposure management processes and tools, you will help strengthen our security posture while working with stakeholders to implement effective solutions. Additionally, you will provide expert advice on security-related projects, ensuring alignment with best practices and relevant guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert, in-depth security guidance to ICT and security teams, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the bank's cyber defences.
• Collaborate closely with the SOC team, providing advanced expertise and ensuring effective incident response and threat analysis.
• Maintain a network within and outside the bank to share knowledge on cyber security.
• Conduct in-depth analysis and continuous improvement of the bank's cyber resilience, particularly its ICT infrastructure.
• Lead the development of the bank's Vulnerability Management and Exposure Management capabilities.
• Continuously assess the bank's attack surface and contribute to Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) practices.
• Identify, analyze, and prioritize vulnerabilities and cyber security risks, ensuring appropriate follow-up and remediation.
• Drive remediation efforts with engineering and infrastructure teams and monitor progress.
• Monitor developments in AI-related security risks and emerging threats, translating insights into practical improvements.
• Provide subject matter expertise on Azure Security and the security of Windows and Linux server environments.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical/IT-related field; security certifications (e.g., CISSP/CEH/CSX) preferred.
• Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with EDR, Cloud, and/or SIEM technology is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Vulnerability Management, Exposure Management, and related security processes.
• Knowledge of Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) and Attack Surface Management principles.
• Understanding of AI-related security risks and developments in the cyber security landscape.
• Strong grasp of Azure Security concepts and controls.
• Experience securing and assessing Windows and Linux server environments.
• Background in Cyber Defence and Security Operations environments.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and follow up on vulnerabilities and security risks.
• Experience leading remediation activities with engineering teams and tracking progress.
• Experience working in complex IT landscapes and collaborating across multiple technology domains.
• A background in system administration, infrastructure engineering, or a similar technical discipline is preferred.
