The Customs & Trade Compliance department is responsible for all customs and compliance activities within Capri Holdings Ltd (CHL) at the Venlo Distribution Center (VDC). The Customs Specialist will ensure day-to-day customs operations and support the Customs team in creating a proper customs environment for smooth processing of inbound and outbound customs execution, including product classification. This role also involves the implementation and maintenance of applicable customs licenses to comply with the latest customs legislation, and the Customs Specialist will be responsible for customs improvements while working according to agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Organisational Relationships

The role requires liaison with external agencies, as well as various functional teams in the business. Developing a close network with the global CHL customs and trade compliance team will enable sharing of knowledge, ideas, and best practices.

Internal:

• All departments within VDC
• Peers in the global CHL customs and trade compliance team
• Colleagues from several Capri Holdings/Michael Kors/Jimmy Choo departments worldwide
• Product Development and Sourcing department

External:

• Customs authorities in shipping and destination countries
• Government agencies (e.g., Cites, Chamber of Commerce)
• Regional Suppliers (systems and products)
• Logistics Service Providers, Customs Agents, and forwarders.

Requirements

• Higher level education (HBO)
• Customs education ‘Vakopleiding Declarant’ of the EVO or equivalent
• At least 3 years of customs experience, including AEO and bonded warehousing
• Good knowledge of English (verbal and written)
• Proficient in PC-based software (MS Office, WMS, DMS)
• Knowledge of forwarding, transportation, and logistics processes
• Effective team member in a moderately stressful environment
• Strong planning skills and ability to set priorities
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and detail-oriented
