As a cost estimator, you excel at solving the puzzle of execution, feasibility, and costs. You will have numerous development opportunities to make an impact, including:

• Advising our clients on maintenance costs, variant assessments, design and execution solutions, and budgets at various levels of detail.
• Collaborating on current challenges such as nitrogen issues or sustainability questions, providing significant input from your discipline.
• Working for various internal and external clients such as municipalities, provinces, Rijkswaterstaat, water boards, nature organizations, contractors, or other (semi-)government bodies.
• Executing projects in infrastructure, hydraulic constructions, water management, and nature and area development, including roads, urban water, structures, dike reinforcement, nature development, renovations, and major maintenance.

Cost estimates are often carried out within our integrated, multidisciplinary projects, making you part of a dedicated team of experts. The variety in project sizes and types allows you to gain extensive knowledge and further grow in the field as a cost estimator. You will be involved with the knowledge group Cost Engineering, contributing to developments in the field. Our knowledge group offers you the chance to grow and participate in developing cost data, tools, and organizing networking events.

We address significant societal challenges related to integrated area development, sustainability, energy transition, and water safety. Projects include the construction and improvement of solar parks, roads, urban centers, and nature development, requiring collaboration between public and private parties and society. As a cost estimator in the advisory group in Nijmegen, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of about 110 colleagues, including civil engineers, road designers, contract advisors, and specialists in soil, water, and spatial planning. We maintain strong relationships with clients ranging from government to market parties in our region.

Our office in Nijmegen is easily accessible, and we feel strongly connected to the region. However, as a cost estimator, you will also collaborate with other teams on projects across the country, allowing you to apply your expertise to various infrastructure or civil projects such as dike reinforcements, hydraulic constructions, bridges, tunnels, and larger multidisciplinary projects.

Jouw profiel

You bring enthusiasm and affinity for the field, with broad knowledge of infrastructure and execution methodologies. You have an eye for the feasibility of a project and understand the intersections and different phases of a project. You enjoy working on integrated projects, think creatively, and pay attention to detail. You can advise both colleagues and clients on various cost issues at different project stages. Additionally, you have:

• Work experience in the field of infrastructure/civil engineering, either broadly or in-depth.
• Knowledge and experience with calculation programs/methodologies such as the Standard Systematic Cost Estimation (SSK), preferably in a role as a cost estimator or calculator.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing budgets.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) for reviewing and preparing various reports and estimates, proactively asking experts for additional questions, or making substantiated assumptions.
