We are seeking to enhance our corporate credit research team with a new Strategist. As a driven and curious early-career professional, you will quickly develop and invest in new skills. Your role will involve analyzing investment-grade corporate issuers across specific sectors, such as real estate, and contributing to sell-side fundamental research by providing actionable credit market insights. Utilizing AI will allow you to work more efficiently and generate deeper insights, ultimately contributing to the team's overall effectiveness.

The Team

You will collaborate closely with a small, experienced team that offers strong exposure and ample opportunity to develop your own sector focus. Our corporate credit research team specializes in Investment Grade issuers, publishing research on company and sector fundamentals as well as credit spreads. Client contact is integral to our work, involving close collaboration across Debt Capital Markets, Financial Markets trading and sales, and the Wholesale Banking sector teams. We are part of ING’s 80-strong Global Research team, delivering leading insights within a close-knit, collaborative research community.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Analyze investment-grade corporate issuers across specific sectors and contribute to fundamental credit research.
• Develop and communicate clear, opinionated, and engaging sector and investment stories.
• Generate actionable credit market insights for internal stakeholders and clients.
• Leverage AI to improve efficiency and generate deeper insights.
• Interact closely with stakeholders within and outside the bank.
• Collaborate strongly with sector and communication departments to position ING as the leading bank on sector expertise.
• Contribute to meetings with Wholesale Bank, Debt Capital Markets, and Financial Markets clients based on in-depth expertise.

• Ability to tell a clear, opinionated, and engaging sector and investment story to drive client impact.
• Capability to add fresh insights that extend beyond AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of company fundamentals, including financial statements, credit metrics, and rating methodologies.
• Good knowledge of bond markets and various bond products to contribute effectively to research.
• Ability to grasp the broader economic and market picture.
• Strong data skills and knowledge of how to apply AI efficiently for data sourcing and analysis.
• Ability to critically assess and validate AI-generated insights grounded in sector expertise.
• Completed university degree (Master in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or comparable) as a foundation.
• 2–3 years of experience in credit research or a similar field to contribute from the start.
• Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and AI tools, with basic programming skills (e.g., Python) to support data analysis.
• Commercial mindset, strong collaboration skills, and excellent written and verbal communication in English.
