In your role as a Coordinating Advisor for Crisis Management, you will guide the direction of the Crisis Management (CM) department and maintain oversight. How will you do this? Read on.

As a Coordinating Advisor, you will form the departmental leadership alongside the department head and your fellow coordinating advisor. You will maintain an overview, connect various components, and ensure the department's direction remains clear. The Crisis Management department operates in both the cold and warm phases. During the cold phase, different teams work on themes such as competency, planning, information management, communication, evaluation, and monitoring. You will coordinate several of these themes. Additionally, you will liaise with colleagues from the Crisis Information Center (CIC), the account management team working within both regional and national organizational components, and role holders active during crisis situations. Two colleagues from management and support will ensure the foundation is solid. Besides regular tasks, you will take on an on-call role, for instance, as the technical chair of the crisis team during escalation.

• You will guide the direction of the department and oversee cross-thematic tasks.
• You connect strategic, tactical, and operational lines and ensure coherence.
• You provide structure, overview, and progress in the department's work.
• You are visible in the office and actively maintain contact with colleagues and the CIC.
• You strengthen cooperation with regions and national services of Rijkswaterstaat and convey the right message.
• You work in a coaching manner without formal HR responsibilities.
• You represent the field of crisis management convincingly, both within and outside Rijkswaterstaat.

Jouw team

The CM department consists of about 35 people and is a relatively young team. Colleagues are spread across various locations throughout the country. Nevertheless, we strive to stay connected through Teams, phone calls, or by meeting for discussions in the office. Our base is the office in Utrecht Westraven or at Papendorpseweg.
