As a Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for the overall procurement of an assigned commodity portfolio. You will take ownership of a diverse range of commodities, including Injection Moulded components, Lines & Hoses, and Rubber products, with the opportunity to shape and develop the commodity strategy.

The Role

You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, defining sourcing strategies, mitigating supply risks, negotiating contracts, developing suppliers, and delivering improvements in cost, quality, and performance. Your role will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, reliability, and performance of your commodity’s systems. Acting as the ‘spider in the web’, you will connect external suppliers with internal customers, collaborating closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics to build a strong internal network and ensure timely project execution. Additionally, you will align supplier roadmaps with PACCAR’s long-term technology strategy and engage in early supplier involvement in new developments while conducting market research to respond to new trends.

Requirements

• Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in commercial automotive engineering or (technical) business studies.
• 2 to 5 years of work experience with ambitions to grow as a professional buyer in the automotive industry.
• Strong communication skills, representable demeanor, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
