About the Role

The Commercial Controller is a vital finance leadership position responsible for influencing the financial and commercial success of the business. As a trusted advisor to the Country Leadership Team, you will provide financial leadership across various domains, including commercial strategy, business planning, investment decisions, profitability management, and performance optimization. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Medical, Regulatory, and other functional leaders to drive data-driven decision-making, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure resources are allocated effectively.

Your Responsibilities

• Strategic Business Partnering

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Country Leadership Team, providing financial insights that shape business strategy and growth plans.
  • Influence critical business decisions by offering objective financial perspectives.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to evaluate growth opportunities and resource allocation.
  • Promote a culture of financial accountability and value creation across the organization.
  • Challenge assumptions and ensure decisions are backed by strong financial rationale.

• Business Performance Leadership

  • Lead performance management processes to achieve revenue, profit, cash flow, and market objectives.
  • Provide insights into business performance, highlighting key drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Establish a forward-looking approach to performance management through predictive analysis.
  • Ensure KPIs are translated into actionable business plans.
  • Facilitate regular business reviews with senior stakeholders.

• Planning, Forecasting & Business Steering

  • Own the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and strategic planning processes.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment throughout planning cycles, ensuring robust assumptions.
  • Lead scenario planning to support informed decision-making.
  • Improve forecast accuracy through disciplined tracking and proactive interventions.
  • Provide visibility around business outlook and risks.

• Commercial Investment Governance

  • Lead the evaluation and governance of commercial investments, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Assess marketing spend and strategic initiatives through a rigorous ROI framework.
  • Ensure alignment of investment decisions with business objectives.
  • Conduct post-investment reviews to enhance future effectiveness.
  • Build compelling business cases for growth initiatives.

• Gross Margin & Profitability Management

  • Drive sustainable gross margin improvement through pricing strategy and portfolio optimization.
  • Partner with teams to identify opportunities for profitability improvement.
  • Support revenue growth management initiatives.
  • Evaluate customer and product profitability to inform resource allocation.
  • Monitor performance against profitability targets.

• Risk Management & Financial Stewardship

  • Identify emerging business risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies.
  • Maintain high standards of financial integrity and governance.
  • Safeguard company assets while promoting a growth-oriented culture.
  • Champion ethical decision-making.

The Experience We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline. MBA, CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: 10-15+ years in finance with exposure to Commercial Finance, FP&A, or Business Controlling. Proven experience in fast-paced environments like FMCG, Nutrition, or Pharmaceutical sectors. Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and leading planning processes.
