As a Chemical Analyst, you will be a key member of our laboratory team within the Emissions & Manure Valorisation department. Your practical experience in chemical analyses will help ensure the quality of our analytical methods, data, and protocols. You will also assist in developing new analytical methods and support researchers and project leaders with operational analytical needs. The laboratory operates independently with a small team of analysts.

Your Duties And Responsibilities

• Support innovative research projects by applying practical and scientific knowledge in sampling, sample preparation, analytical methods, analyses, and data validation.
• Take responsibility for laboratory equipment, including technical maintenance activities.
• Provide general support to laboratory users, including researchers.
• Work in accordance with the procedures and standards of an ISO 9001-certified laboratory.

Where you will work

The laboratory is part of the Emissions & Manure Valorisation department, which focuses on greenhouse gas emissions, nitrogen emissions, particulate matter, and odour emissions from livestock systems. Our team of approximately 40 professionals collaborates across disciplines to measure environmental impacts in livestock farming, working closely with Wageningen University & Research and external partners.

Our Core Activities Include

• Measuring emissions in both air quality and chemical laboratories, with field measurements across the Netherlands.
• Developing commercially viable innovations to reduce emissions and improve indoor climate in livestock housing.
• Creating solutions for effective manure and mineral use.

Your qualities

You Also Have

• A completed MLO qualification in Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
• The ability to quickly learn and implement new analytical techniques.
• An interest in environmental issues and research.
• An affinity for quality management and a desire to develop in this area.
• Proficiency in both Dutch and English.
