The Role

In the role of Solution Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust SCADA solutions specifically for crane automation systems utilized in ports globally. Your work will span the entire project lifecycle, from system design and PLC integration to on-site commissioning and project handover, collaborating closely with PLC engineers and hardware specialists throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable SCADA solutions for crane automation systems.
  • Contribute to the development of remote-control and automation platforms.
  • Read, analyze, and modify PLC logic (SIMATIC S7) to facilitate integration activities.
  • Collaborate with PLC and hardware teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Conduct commissioning tasks including testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation and report progress to project stakeholders.
  • Support acceptance testing and the final project handover.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with WinCC OA.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming in industrial settings.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and adjust PLC logic (SIMATIC S7).
  • Strong system-level thinking across SCADA, PLC, and hardware layers.
  • Professional fluency in English; Dutch is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license (on-site commissioning is part of the role).
