The Role

At AECOM, we are committed to delivering a better world through our infrastructure consulting services. We are currently looking for a mid-level Construction Manager with over 10 years of experience to oversee on-site construction activities for a major PMC project at Tweede Maasvlakte. The ideal candidate will ensure that civil works are executed according to contract specifications, schedules, and quality standards, while also possessing sufficient electrical engineering knowledge to manage Electrical Works effectively with the support of the Electrical Team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily civil construction activities to ensure compliance with design documents and project plans.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems as per design specifications.
  • Ensure all work complies with FIDIC Yellow Book contract obligations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project management to address technical issues on-site.
  • Monitor (sub)contractor performance, work progress, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with design teams, subcontractors, and construction management for seamless execution of site activities.
  • Report on progress, risks, and non-conformities to the Construction Manager and Resident Engineer.
  • Maintain site records including weather conditions, progress reports, inspections, and test results.
  • Participate in inspections and handover procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and procedures.
  • Execute both routine and complex assignments that require sound judgment in resolving issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory role on civil construction projects.
  • Proven experience in contract management on Design & Build / EPC contracts.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering practices, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch.

Nice to Have

  • Certification in Project Management or Construction Supervision.
  • Experience on infrastructure, industrial, or utility-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling tools (Primavera P6/MS Project) is a plus.
