We are seeking a skilled Game Engine Developer to join our team on an hourly contract basis. This remote position offers flexibility with a commitment of 10–40 hours per week. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing game environments using Panda3D and Godot, as well as scripting advanced gameplay mechanics with Python and GDScript.

The Role

You will collaborate with AI research teams to create and refine environments for AI training, ensuring that your code is modular, maintainable, and well-documented. Your focus will be on the performance, stability, and scalability of game systems across various platforms, contributing to the design and technical direction of AI-driven gameplay features.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize game environments using Panda3D and Godot.
• Script advanced gameplay mechanics and physics systems using Python and GDScript.
• Collaborate with AI research teams to build and refine environments for AI training.
• Create modular, maintainable, and well-documented code for simulations and interactions.
• Ensure performance, stability, and scalability of game systems across platforms.
• Contribute to the design and technical direction of AI-driven gameplay features.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and technical insights with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Panda3D and/or Godot game engines.
• Proficiency in Python and GDScript for scripting game logic and physics.
• Strong understanding of game physics, environment design, and interactive systems.
• Experience building and optimizing real-time game environments.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience integrating AI models or agents within game engines.
