For Stad & Esch Eigen Weg in Meppel, we are looking for an AVO teacher and group teacher (0.80 fte) for the upper grades, 4BK (target group vmbo-basis/kader), starting November 1, 2026.

Eigen Weg is a small educational environment for students who need extra guidance, structure, and support. We provide education at vmbo-basis, vmbo-kader, vmbo-tl, and havo lower levels, preparing our students for a suitable next step towards mbo or another appropriate educational route.

In Eigen Weg, we work with small groups and a committed team. The group teacher plays a crucial role, knowing the students well, being a consistent point of contact, and collaborating with colleagues on their development.

As an AVO teacher and group teacher of 4BK, you will combine teaching with an important guiding role. You will provide AVO education within 4BK, be the group teacher for a fixed group of students, offer structure, clarity, and safety, and be attentive to the individual educational and support needs of students. You will guide students in their development towards exams and further education, work closely with colleagues, mentors, and other professionals, monitor student progress, and contribute actively to a positive pedagogical climate, while also thinking about the further development of education within Eigen Weg.

We are looking for a colleague who takes students seriously and looks beyond behavior or results, is pedagogically strong and can provide clarity and structure, builds trust with students, can switch between different educational and support needs, enjoys teaching AVO, collaborates well, takes responsibility for the group, is flexible, involved, and reflective, and values working with students towards their independence and future.

For this position, we prefer a colleague with a second-degree or first-degree teaching qualification.
